Goodbye Summer … Hello Fall!
It happens every year, we jump head first into summer and before we know it September is here and the kids are back in school! It’s the perfect time to think ahead and schedule your child’s or family’s portrait session.
Maximilian B. Nucci Photography, based in the Hudson Valley, is excited for fall as it’s the perfect season for portraits. The weather is temperate, the colors are vibrant and the outdoors are the perfect setting for portraits of any kind. Before considering your session, here’s a few helpful tips:
Choosing the Right Professional – Today, many of us have cameras but it does not make us all professionals. Once you have found a professional, then it’s important he or she works well with kids, babies, families, etc. Professional photographers are able to capture character, personality and soul of a person and not just a “still-life” of a person. A profession photographer is able to interact with you and your kids from behind the camera, getting the best reactions from you and your kids.
Choosing the Best Location – Most photographers have great locations for your portrait session. It’s important to discuss location with your photographer and decide on the best place for your portrait session; a place that you and your kids will enjoy and have fun. At Maximilian B. Nucci Photography, we specialize in life-style portraits which just means we capture you, your child or your family enjoying life, having fun, and being you.
What to Wear – Comfort should always be the first thing that’s considered; clothing that expresses you or your child’s character. Think of a unifying color if the portrait includes a group. Another helpful tip, is to look at advertising for your favorite children’s clothing store or department store. Advertisement is basically free styling advice from professionals and most looks are easily replicated.
Your Expectation - Some of us know exactly what we expect the finished product to look like … maybe artwork for your walls at home, artwork for holiday cards, gifts for grandma or grandpa, or all-of-the-above. If you have some ideas of what you want your portrait to look like or not look like, share them with your photographer. At our studio, we love advice from you and these discussions will help us plan your session with the goal of a great experience for you and your family.
