I'm so excited to share Stefanie and Patrick's winter wedding at the Full Moon Resort. The celebration took place this past January, and it was as white as the couple dreamed it would be. Nope, they are not crazy. They just love the winter season, and more people should consider having their winter wedding during this beautiful season.
As you probably guessed, a winter wedding at the Full Moon Resort in the Catskill mountains, involved a lot of snow. Yes it did. Fortunately, the resort is well prepared to deal with winter weddings, and made sure that their guests fully enjoyed their time there. Snow just added a beautiful backdrop, to a beautiful event.
The bride and groom wanted something special and out of the ordinary as they planned their wedding to be in January. They definitely got it. The celebration was warm and well attended, as the snow consistently came down outside. Even though they live only an hour away from the Full Moon Resort, the wedding felt like a destination wedding. They spent two nights at the resort, and they had almost three days to celebrate with their friends and family.
The Full Moon Resort offers beautiful views and sites for outdoor ceremonies. However, in the winter it is best to keep people sheltered from the elements. Pat and Steph's wedding ceremony was in the performance space, which was also the site of their 'after hour' party after the reception. Their cocktail hour took place at the inn, and their wedding reception was held in the barn. The barn was just perfect for the newlyweds, as they were looking for a rustic setting. It fit right in with their vision. Not to worry, the barn is well kept and very warm--even on a night like that, with temperatures around 15 degrees. Their wedding theme was country-western inspired, to blend in with the surroundings. Bride and groom wore cowboy boots, and they asked all the guests to wear the same. Everyone danced and the party went on late into the night.
If you like snow, winter sports, and gorgeous outdoors, then you should consider having a winter wedding. You can have your wedding, and enjoy time away with the people you love in a spectacular setting.
